PAUSE

A student is forced to put on pause mode all (or nearly all ^^) of her beloved hobbies, her blog included, because of the pressures of exam time.

"Not exactly the feel-good film of the year, yet AMAZING!" - The Antananarivo Express
"The best movie Irene Negri has ever starred in" - The Sunday Toast

UP ON THE PEDESTAL

FELLOW CITIZENS!

Today is a revolutionary day!
(applause)

Together, you and I will turn the world upside down and show everyone what we're made of!
(roar of approval)

And do you have any idea how we're going to do this?
(embarrassed silence...)

Oh, citizens! Today, for the
first time in the history

of our glorious blog since
its beloved founder put its
first stone on
this holy ground,
we're going to UPLOAD THE
IMAGE ON THE RIGHT OFTHE TEXT!!!
(the crowds go crazy with enthusiasm)

GRANDFATHER

He's my hero!

And even if he's funny, sometimes quirky and he certainly puts me in a good mood, for some reason I can't write anything funny, quirky or goodie-moodie about him...sorry! He'll be the exception of this blog's intentions ;)

Nonno, sei un mito!!!

Notes: he's over 80, he's a land-worker, he has a fantastic sense of humour and he's my dad's dad.

THE PEACH TREE

Primary school recipe: - take a pretty little branch and bring it to class - the teacher will give you a choice between pale yellow, pale pink and pale blue cotton flocks - CHOOSE THE PALE PINK ONES!!! - thread the cotton flocks on the pretty little branch, nicely... ...here you have your peach flowered branch! :D

GRANDMOTHER

- Irene, is there any little boy that fancies you? Do you have a special friend?
- No, nonna. I only have NORMAL friends, you see...
- Uhmm. When I was your age, LOADS of boys fancied me. You know, I was one of the prettiest girls in town, and when there were dancing competitions everyone // [...]

- Have some more meat, ninìn.
- Thank you nonna, I'm not hungry anymore.
- WHAT?! What have you become??? You are not one of those...what are they called? Vegetarians, right?? You must be joking. Come on, have some meat!
- Nonna, really, I'm fine!
- If you want to grow you need my meat. Here you are. Two big pieces.

- Ninìn, tomorrow you'll be sick. Look at your neckline!
- What about my neckline, nonna?
- Get covered!!! Don't you know that the neck is very vulnerable?
- It's warm and sunny, nonna.
- That's what you think, but even if you don't feel it, trust me, it's also windy and tomorrow you'll be sick! Take this pullover.

You can't win when you play with grandmother.

ITALY (ii)

Spot the mountains!

Don't tell me that water can have a "natural blackcurrant flavour"!!!!! It's like believing that married people can live forever in peace and harmony, pretending that racial prejudice makes sense and arguing that an ice-cream won't melt in the desert.

Yes, you might have noticed that what I write doesn't necessarily match with the pictures - my invisible readers have such a good sense of observation! I'm proud of you people :) hahaha

ITALY (i)

When my grandfather died, I decided I would choose a star and pretend it was him. So I talked to him, I mean, I talked to the star. It was nice. It's a shame I have no idea which star it is now! I wonder if I could ever forgive myself in case I picked another one...

*LIKE*

I like SPRING. And FLOWERS. And all that has some green and blue and yellow and orange and pink and red and what other pretty colours have I forgotten to mention?

I like, I like, MI PIACE!!!!!
This is such a lovely time of the year :)

If the flowers had voices that only spoke when everything else is silent, what would they say when you're relaxing next to them on a sunny spring afternoon? Could we discuss philosophy with them, would they tell us what life is?
Maybe the flowers have already tried to speak to us while we were sleeping. That would be such a shame!!!

P.s. I also really like the people that write nice comments on this blog, thank you!
